Who we are: We are people just like you that get together for Clean adult chat. Many of us have become good friends and have met many times in person and visit with one another in the channel as friends do in our homes. We have couples that have gotten married after meeting here and there are currently several couples together as a result of the friendship that began here. #40single is NOT a cyber sex channel, nor do we tolerate perverts and many of the other undesirables you find so often on IRC. You will find some flirting and mild innuendos but we do not condone patently offensive behavior. This is not a channel for children but we do occasionally have children of our channel members drop in on us so we try to be nice to them and help guide the other random visits elsewhere. We absolutely do NOT tolerate folks joining the channel while in other channels having anything to do with kiddie porn, animal sex, or violence. See our FAQ for more information.

How to find us: Using any of the Internet Relay Chat (IRC) clients (see the links to mIRC, PIRCH, and IRCLE), you can find us by connecting to any DALnet server. If you are not familiar with DALnet, you may select a random server by using irc.dal.net as your server option and getting a random server assignment on DALnet (example for mIRC: in the status window, type "/server irc.dal.net" enter, without the quotes). Then JOIN #40single (again, example for mIRC: in the status window, type "/join #40single" enter, without the quotes). You will find activity there almost any time of day or night with the greatest occuring during the evening in the U.S.A. (2100-0400 GMT). We have participants from all over the world and the language used in the channel is English.

We encourage participation from single adults in the 40ish age bracket, plus or minus a decade or two but we have couples and marrieds in the channel as well. We ask that you be honest about your particular situation when joining. We hope that you will find the information here helpful and informative. Our hearts pour out to the families and friends of the victims of the terrorist attacks on the New York City World Trade Center, the Pentagon, American Airlines and United Airlines flights, and the workers that have died in the rescue attempts. We condemn the terrorists, their activities and all countries that condone and protect them. We will not rest until they have been brought to justice.
